Menu Foods -- a major manufacturer of dog and cat food sold under Wal-Mart, Safeway, Kroger and other store brands -- recalled 60 million containers of pet food after reports of kidney failure and at least 10 deaths of cats and dogs.

I would not be so rash as to conclude that it was an element of poison which took our irreplacable Baby Driver III from us on our way over to the eastern shore, but the timing coincides. One second he was excitedly climbing all over our vehicle, and the next, barely making it to a corner of the back seat, to die in peace. There are other English shorthaors in the world who need a new home, but none will have the character, intelligence and moxie of BeeDee.
